Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won the Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney has a father who was an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed about becoming a reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teenager in All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. Like her career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. The accomplished actor has had to battle alcoholism, and has had two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody over her one son.
