Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the web, including her own released single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to work on Rihanna references. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and was an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter performed on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two more singles were released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. In February her music video to this track debuted. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views within a week. In December of 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
